Heavenly is the premiere Lake Tahoe ski resort, straddling the border between California and Nevada on the southern shore of the lake. 97 trails sprawl out over 4800 acres of skiable in bounds territory and a 3812-foot vertical. When it comes to skiing, it’s impossible to ski all of Heavenly in a day; visitors are going to need somewhere to lay their head and store their gear in between epic runs. Thankfully, there are a lot of options when it comes to Heavenly lodging on both the California and the Nevada side.

Marriott Grand Residence Club

If you’re looking for luxury Heavenly lodging, look no farther than the Marriott Grand Residence Club. This resort and condominium area rests at the base of the Heavenly Gondola, providing nearly instant access to the slopes. Stay in one of the standard rooms and treat yourself to a plush queen or king sized bed and enough room to stretch out in comfort. For a more luxurious stay, the larger rooms have full kitchens and large living rooms, perfect for families and large groups. No matter which room you stay in, you have access to the on-site spa with a sauna and steam room ready to help warm the aches from your cold and tired bones. If you’ve got your ski equipment, take advantage of the complimentary ski and board storage. There’s also a heated outdoor pool which is perfect for lounging on a lazy day when you just don’t feel like skiing.

Tahoe Seasons Resort

This Heavenly lodging option sits less than 100 yards from the lifts at the California side base area. This Diamond Resorts International property specializes in family fun and service. You have your choice of a one or two bedroom suite with 1 and a half baths and an in-room Jacuzzi tub. A dedicated living room and a kitchenette area allow you to relax without feeling crowded. The one-bedroom suite sleeps up to six and the two-bedroom unit sleeps up to eight people comfortably. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Diamond Resort without world class service. Whether its recommendations for brunch or pointing out the best thing to order at Jalisco Grill, the staff at Tahoe Seasons is dedicated to making your stay as great as it can be. Don’t forget to request a room with a balcony. The balconies have lounge chairs and let you relax and enjoy some semi-private après ski drinks with friends and family.

The Landing Resort and Spa

You can’t talk about Heavenly lodging options and not talk about The Landing. The only five-star property in the Lake Tahoe/Heavenly area, this resort and spa has grabbed the attention of the area, garnering numerous accolades for service, comfort and style. The standard rooms have a stone gas fireplace and sitting area with twin leather club chairs. There is also a spacious balcony and a walk-in rain shower and separate soaking tub. As if that wasn’t enough, the bathroom floors and toilet seats are heated. There’s a complimentary shuttle that takes you to Heavenly’s California base lodge in the mornings and will pick you up when you’re done. Before you head to the slopes, however, make sure to stop in and grab breakfast at Jimmy’s. The chilaquiles are a spectacular Tex-Mex twist on toast and eggs, while the lemon ricotta pancakes with curd are just delicious.

Other Options

There are, of course, multiple other options for Heavenly lodging. All of the major chain hotels are represented, from Hilton properties to Days Inn. All of them have free shuttles to take you to and from the base lodge and many have on-site bars and restaurants where you can meet fellow skiers for fun après ski, catching up on tales of the best runs down the mountains. No matter where you choose to stay when you ski Heavenly, you’re going to have a great time. Whether you go in for a full round of pampering or you’re just there to focus on the snow, there’s a Heavenly lodging option that will suit you.
