China Peak Lodging

China Peak is located on the southern shore of Huntington Lake, roughly 65 miles northeast of Fresno. This ski area is a favorite for people all across central California who head to China Peak when they don’t want to deal with crowds at Mammoth or are looking for a relaxing weekend away. No matter the reason you’re heading to China Peak, you’re going to need China Peak lodging. Thankfully, you have several options, including two very different choices near the slopes.

The Inn at China Peak

The Inn at China Peak is the closest China Peak lodging to the slopes. The Inn offers five different types of rooms, with almost every room able to sleep between four and six guests. The Economy room has a shared restroom and shower room located on each floor. Suites, King rooms and deluxe suites have private baths. The standard suite is in the east wing and has a deck that looks out over the slopes, perfect for relaxing and watching other skiers careen down the slopes. The Inn also features an inhouse restaurant and bar. Breakfast is served each morning cafeteria-style to get you fueled and out on the slopes quickly. At the end of the day, relax in JW’s Bar for some après ski drinks and appetizers as you share some stories with your friends.

Elliott House Bed and Breakfast

Elliott House is a great choice for China Peak lodging when you want something a little more private with a quiet atmosphere. There are seven suites available and four cabins. Each suite is decorated in a different style and color from the chocolate and raspberries of the Cedar Suite to the golden oak paneling of the Ponderosa. Each room comes with a full gourmet breakfast that features items such as baked caramel apple and pear pancakes or homemade crepes with eggs, ricotta, and spinach or sweet cheese and cherries. At the end of the day, guests can relax in front of their own gas log fireplaces and enjoy a treat from the honor bar.

Tamarack Motor Lodge

This China Peak lodging has eight different rooms that should rightly be called studio apartments. Each room has a private bathroom and a kitchenette. Some of the suites have a wood burning fireplace with wood for sale in the main office. There are two types of beds available, with one having a queen bed and two twins and the other having a king with two twin beds. No matter which room type you choose, Tamarack Motor Lodge offers a great value while keeping you within minutes of the slopes at China Peak.

RV Parking

The second option for staying as close as possible to China Peak is to hook up your RV in their parking lot. China Peak is one of the only ski resorts in the United States to offer RV hookups on site. As an option for China Peak lodging, this is one that most people would never think of. Each RV hookup has a 20 amp electric box and a connection for cable television. With 17 spaces available, the lot does fill quickly from those who are in the know. The RV site is just feet away from the slopes and offers true ski in/out access to the resort.
