Boreal Lodging
The Boreal Mountain Resort is located in the heart of Soda Springs, California, close to the area of Lake Tahoe. The ski resort can be found on Highway 80 and it is usually the first ski resort, in the northern part of California, to open each season. Boreal Mountain Resort is best known for hosting the 2009 United States Snowboarding Grand Prix. Lodging On or Near the Property
In order to get an early start on the slopes, you may want to consider choosing Boreal lodging that is either onsite or at least pretty close by. The Boreal Mountain Resort does not have any onsite lodging, but there are two options that are extremely close by.
The Boreal Inn is located in Soda Springs, just ¼ of a mile from the resort. The quaint bed and breakfast provide you with a hot continental breakfast and children ages 12 and under stay for free. Each of the rooms at the inn has a fridge, microwave oven, and flat screen television.
Also right around the corner is the Clair Tappaan Lodge, located in Norden, just 1.3 miles away. The rustic-themed lodge is set in the woodlands of Donner Pass. The lodge, built in the 1930’s by volunteers from the Sierra Club, is able to accommodate up to 145 guests. The room options range from dorm rooms, perfect for those who are traveling solo to private group rooms, which sleep up to 12 people. The Clair Tappaan Lodge features a large sitting area with fireplace, library, hot tub, game room, lounge area and rental shop.
Nearby Boreal Lodging
Truckee is the next closest town to Soda Springs and offers some great Boreal lodging options. Donner Lake Village Resort is just five miles down the road. This lakeside resort features condominium suites and is set on the shoreline of Donner Lake. Room choices start at the Lodgette, which sleeps 2 to 4 guests and features a queen sized bed and sleeper sofa to the Townhouse Deluxe Lakeview, which sleeps 3 to 6 guests and features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and full kitchen. The resort features an onsite marina with watercraft rentals.
Also in Truckee is the Truckee Donner Lodge, located just under 8 miles from the ski resort. This Boreal lodging option combines modern-day amenities with a country décor. The lodge is located right in the midst of the lakes, mountains, meadows and alpines. Room options at the Truckee Donner Lodge range from the Two Queen Beds Feature Room to the King Bed Executive Room.
A third lodging option is the Hotel Truckee-Tahoe, located a little under 13 miles from Soda Springs. The hotel is decorated in natural woods and features modern-day amenities. The pet-friendly Boreal lodging facility provides guests with a hot breakfast each morning. Room choices start with the Deluxe Double Queen Room, featuring two Feather Bone queen beds and ranging up to the Deluxe King Room.
