Alpine Meadow Ski Resort’s location makes it a great spot for skiers and snowboarders who enjoy a short drive and are living in Reno, Sacramento, or San Francisco. With an average annual snowfall of over four hundred inches every year, it’s no wonder Alpine Meadows remains a favorite among adventure seekers. December is the best month to visit the resort if you’re looking to take advantage of fresh powder. The big mountain has over a hundred and seventy trails to enjoy for all skill levels. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails are available across over three thousand acres. Lift lines won’t be a problem here either with twenty-nine lifts and gondolas to bring riders up the mountain as quickly as possible.

Adventure at Every Corner

Alpine Meadows Ski Resort has five terrain parks for a wide range of skill levels and abilities. All parks have various levels of jumps, rails, and pipes that you can choose from. Safety is always important to remember when riding through the terrain park and remains one of Alpine Meadows top priorities. If terrain parks aren’t your thing, perhaps night skiing is. For riders who want to take advantage of every last minute of skiing, they can enjoy lesser lift lines and emptier mountains, skiing until seven at night. Night owls can also enjoy ice skating, snow tubing, and mini snowmobiles as well. Always remember, activities at the mountain are weather dependent so be sure to check the weather before you head out for the day to avoid disappointment.

Snowshoeing, a favorite pastime at the mountain, can be enjoyed all season long. With a designated trail system available for kids and adults, snowshoes are available to rent for those who do not own their own. For those looking for a bit of a different adventure, dog sledding is also available on the mountain. Hour-long dog sledding experiences are available for parties of four. The well-trained dogs travel at 13.5 miles per hour so make sure you’re holding on tight!

Fun off the Mountain

The Skyjump activity is available for children and adults at the base of the mountain. Test out your front or back somersaults, and how high you can jump by strapping in and getting bouncing! This activity is a favorite at the mountain. No matter what adventure you’re looking to have at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort you are sure to find something. Kids love the various adventures just as much as the adults do.
